Standard English Intermediate 1

This 8-lesson course (20 minutes per lesson) is designed to help you talk about who people are, how they act, and what they’ve lived—in clear, natural English. You’ll learn how to describe people’s behavior using manner adverbs and adjectives, and talk about their personalities with intensifiers like extremely. You’ll practice using always + continuous to describe habits and at least to highlight the positive side of a situation. Next, you move into real-life storytelling: talking about experiences and secret dreams with the present perfect, and asking about unusual experiences with confident present-perfect questions. You’ll see how to keep a conversation going using follow-up questions like Do you…? Have you…? to show genuine interest. Finally, you’ll read real student profiles and learn to write your own engaging personal profile, ready for online communities, applications, or social media.
